Amy Beasley
Amy Beasley is a dedicated community leader and union activist who currently serves as the President of the Bluegrass Central Labor Council. A lifelong Kentuckian and resident of District 8, Beasley is also a councilmember for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council, where she represents District 8.
Union & Advocacy
For over two decades, Beasley has been a powerful advocate for workers' rights. As a Kroger Pharmacy employee, she is a member and Chief Steward for United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 227. Her leadership within the labor movement has been recognized through her election as president of the Bluegrass Central Labor Council.
Public & Community Service
As a mother of four and an active community mentor, Beasley decided to run for public office to address critical issues impacting children and families. Her top priorities on the Council include fighting food insecurity, expanding access to mental health support, and addressing the root causes of youth gun violence. She is the first woman ever elected to represent the 8th District. Beasley serves on the Social Services and Public Safety and Environmental Quality and Public Works council committees.
