Mitch McConnell addressed the press today and said that he was for preserving the filibuster because there was no racial history behind the senate procedure used to block legislation. The senator, who seemed to forget the 24 hours, 18-minute long filibuster over the 1957 voting rights act by South Carolina Senator Strom Thurmond.
