Join AFL-CIO livestream events today and Thursday

The AFL-CIO is hosting two big events this week. We hope you’ll RSVP to join the livestream. Both events will have Q&As from the in-person audience.

Today, 12 p.m. (EDT):

Shifting the Power: Building Pro-Worker Policies from the Ground Up

The AFL-CIO is excited to host union members: Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, Mayor Dahlia Vertreese of Hillside, New Jersey, and Ruth Wattenberg from the DC State Board of Education. They’ll be talking about why union members who run for office are game changers for their local communities and advocates for policies that lift up all working people.

Thursday, 1 p.m. (EDT):

German and US Unions: Shaping the Future of Work

The AFL-CIO, in partnership with the German Embassy, will host a discussion between AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka and his German counterpart, DGB President Reiner Hoffmann, to discuss the role of unions in shaping the work of the future. In both countries, ongoing changes in the workplace and the economy present challenges as well as opportunities for the labor movement and society.
