From Bill Londrigan, Kentucky State AFL-CIO president:

On Monday, March 29th we will conduct our second Car Caravan at the State Capitol to demonstrate our opposition to veto overrides of several bad pieces of legislation including: H.B. 475; H.B. 258; H.B. 563 etc.

We will meet at the Capitol View Park in Frankfort right off the East/West Connector at 9am where we will line up vehicles.  Once again we will have a police escort along the route to the Capitol and those attending will be provided with a flyer indicating the route.  Our permit only allows us to be on the Capitol grounds from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. as there are other groups planning events that day and we don’t want to overlap with other groups and messages.  There are some bad appropriation bills not listed above, but they have not been vetoed by the Governor yet.

The event will be safe as everyone will be in their own cars for the caravan - no mass gathering. I’ve also attached a graphic you can share but the event can also be shared from the Kentucky State AFL-CIO Facebook page.

“Join us as we caravan around the Capitol to ask the Kentucky General Assembly to consider the Commonwealth’s workplace safety, public schools, and taxpayers; and Do NOT override Governor Beshear’s vetoes of HB 475, H.B. 258, HB 563, and to save the taxpayers’ the unnecessary costs of an expensive special legislative session to appropriate federal American Rescue Plan Act funds.”
