By KENNY COLSTONKentucky Democratic PartyFrankfort, KY —  Conservative voices across the country are joining those in Kentucky expressing anger with U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, including one notable voice calling for McConnell to step down as minority leader.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports conservative media hosts Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are joining the growing number of Kentucky Republicans expressing frustration at McConnell.

From the Herald-Leader:

Sean Hannity, the highly rated Fox News TV host, suggested McConnell step down from his leadership post.
“If you’re not gonna fight, we deserve better,” Hannity said on his daytime radio show. “You can go back to representing the people of Kentucky and let somebody that knows how to lead, lead.” Hannity and others’ comments come on the heels of a growing backlash against McConnell in his home state. According to WFPL, more than 50 county chairs or vice chairs have signed a resolution forcing the Republican Party of Kentucky to hold an unplanned meeting tomorrow (Saturday, January 23) regarding McConnell’s lack of support for Donald Trump.  From WFPL: “I do not support Mitch McConnell at this point. If we could recall Mitch, I’d lead the charge,” Nelson County GOP Chair Don Thrasher said.  The Nelson County GOP unanimously voted to censure McConnell on Tuesday, according to the Kentucky Standard newspaper.
