EDITOR’S NOTE: Bill Londrigan has sent us a reminder that “tomorrow, Thursday afternoon, July 29th  is the cut off for registering.” Hence, he asks, “please register as soon as possible so we can submit the names of those attending for hotel accommodations.”

The United Mineworkers of America has invited Kentucky trade unionists to attend their major rally in Brookwood, AL on Wednesday, August 4th.  The UMWA will sponsor the bus, meals and overnight accommodations for those who would like to go to Alabama to the rally and support the 1100 UMWA miners that have been on strike for several months now.  If you would like to reserve a place on the bus use the following google.doc link: FILL OUT IN GOOGLE FORMS

We are coordinating hotel rooms and accommodations with the UMWA and would appreciate if you would respond as soon as possible.

The bus is scheduled to leave from UAW Local 862, 3000 Fern Valley Road, Louisville, KY on Tuesday, August 3rd at 1:30 p.m. (EST) and will begin loading at 1:00 p.m.   The bus ride to the hotel is about 6 hours.  The rally will take place on Wednesday, August 4th beginning at 10:00 a.m. (Central) until 1:00 p.m.   Following the rally the bus will depart for Louisville.   Liles Taylor has been designated the bus captain for this event and please contact him or me if you have any questions or need additional information.  859-533-1897 or ltaylor@kyaflcio.org
