On Tuesday, the Kentucky General Assembly convened for the 2021 Legislative Session, and they hit the ground running. They have quickly dispensed with legislative tradition (similar to their unprecedented, hurried actions to ram Right-To-Work-For-Less and the repeal of Prevailing Wage in 2017) and are working to push through some of the most controversial pieces of legislation in their legislative agenda, during a time that is generally preserved for administrative functions. Instead, they seem to be changing their longstanding and published calendar (notwithstanding their efforts to pass RTW and the repeal of PW in 2017 without pushback) prior to returning home for the remainder of January. But rest assured, the KY Labor Movement's Legislative Agents are paying close attention (even if they're not allowed in the Capitol).
