Andy Beshear didn’t mince words about the guy whose job he wants.

“Matt Bevin is the most disastrous force I’ve ever seen in that governor’s office, but together we’re going to make him a one-term governor.”

The Kentucky State AFL-CIO Executive Board loved it. The members cheered and applauded the brand new Democratic candidate for governor.

The election is Nov. 5.

Gov. Matt Bevin told the truth when he said his race for reelection will feature "a very clear contrast on issues."

Nowhere will the contrast be clearer than on union issues.

Bevin fended off a strong challenge from state Rep. Robert Goforth in the GOP primary. In the Democratic primary, Beshear, the outgoing attorney general, finished ahead of House Minority Leader Rocky Adkins and former auditor Adam Edelen.

After promising to “to work every single day for our working families,” Attorney Gen. Andy Beshear, the brand-new Democratic nominee for governor, gets specific on union issues:

The following is a statement from Ben Self, Kentucky Democratic Party Chair, on Andy Beshear and Jaqueline Coleman’s win in the 2019 Gubernatorial Primary:

“Congratulations to Attorney General Andy Beshear and his running mate Jaqueline Coleman on their success in the Democratic Gubernatorial Primary.

Frankfort, KY — On Tuesday, Governor Matt Bevin barely survived his primary election amid backlash from voters in his own Party. The controversial first-term Governor heads into November weakened and vulnerable to defeat.

EDITOR'S NOTE: We enjoy posting commentary from our friend Roy Pullam in Henderson This week he sent us commentary from a Caldwell County Republican who's not on Team Bevin. Roy got it from former Democratic state Sen. Dorsey Ridley of Henderson. It's particularly timely today on primary election day. It will be just as timely as we head toward Nov. 5.
