EDITOR'S NOTE: The 24th annual Mike Miller Democratic Bean Dinner, sponsored by the Marshall County Democratic party, is set for Friday night at the Kentucky Dam State Resort Park Convention Center. Featured speakers include former governors Steve Beshear, Paul Patton, and Martha Layne Collins. All Democratic candidates on the November ballot have been invited. (The Kentucky State AFL-CIO unanimously endorsed the Democratic slate from Andy Beshear down.) Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner to begin at 6 p.m. Auction items will be available. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Tickets for Young Democrats are $15 with student ID.

From Randy Gray, county party vice chair and son of former state Rep. J.R. Gray, D-Benton:

We are seeking $100 sponsorships for our event. The following labor organizations have confirmed a sponsorship: Boilermakers Local 30679, Ironworkers Local 742 and Teamsters Local 236. Please consider a sponsorship. We will publicize your organization at the dinner. Also, if you have a logo, please send it to me with your sponsorship fee. I can create a JPEG for the electronic screens.

Best regards,

Randy Gray
