McGrath is in against McConnell; Dem sends first fund-raising email

EDITOR’S NOTE: We just got this from the brand-new McGrath for senate campaign:

Today, I’m announcing my campaign to replace Mitch McConnell in the United States Senate.

It all goes back to a letter I wrote Senator McConnell when I was 13. I told him that I wanted to fly in combat, to fight for my country—even though the law said I couldn’t because I was a girl.

I never heard back. And after 34 years, I know I’m not the only Kentuckian he’s ignored.

Watch this video which lays out exactly why I’m taking on Mitch McConnell—and, when you’re done, would you consider being one of the first to chip in to this campaign?

Mitch McConnell has been Kentucky’s senator since I was nine years old. Since he was first elected, I graduated from the Naval Academy, became a Marine, learned to fly fighter jets, deployed to the Iraq War and to Afghanistan, served in the Pentagon, returned to the Naval Academy to teach, and had three children.

The truth is Mitch McConnell never went to Washington to serve us.He’s never been in this for anyone but himself.

For over three decades, he’s been unabashed about being a career politician—always putting D.C. lobbyists, special-interest allies, and his own political career first, ahead of his country, our Constitution, and Kentucky.

Along the way, bit by bit, he’s turned Washington into something we all despise—some call it the swamp.

But we can restore our democracy and bring back some basic values I learned as a Marine and a mom: Put people first. Accomplish the mission. Always put our country’s interests over politics, no matter what.

It’s that simple.

As Kentucky’s next U.S. senator, I will be that leader: one ready to work with anyone to solve our problems, and ready to stand up to anyone who gets in the way—no matter their party.

We all know this is going to be a hard race. Mitch McConnell has over $5 million in the bank—and that doesn’t count the special interests ready to spend big to keep their guy in power. If their past actions are any guide, I expect this to get pretty nasty, and fast.

I’m not afraid of Mitch McConnell and his deep-pocketed friends because we have proven that grassroots campaigns work. With you on my side, I know we can do this.

Make a donation of any amount to kickstart our campaign—and let’s introduce Mitch McConnell to the team that’s going to defeat him and restore moral leadership in Washington.

Defeat Mitch. Defend democracy.

Let’s go,
Amy
