OUR PAYCHECK, OUR VOICE

Tell Your Legislators to Vote NO on HB 364 & SB 7

Our paychecks and our voices are under attack in Frankfort starting tomorrow, Feb, 23. Committees are scheduled to take up hear HB 364 & SB 7, legislation that is squarely aimed at the paychecks of public employees. Both measures prohibit their right to pay their union dues and make PAC fund contributions through paycheck deductions.

HB 364 was added as a last minute agenda item to the February 23rd House Economic Development & Workforce Investment Committee meeting, which is set for 8 a.m. EST in Annex Room 149).

It's companion bill, SB 7, was added even later to the Senate Education Committee agenda. That committee meets at 11 a.m. EST in Annex Room 131.

Can you join us in Frankfort as we work defend the paychecks and voices of Kentucky's public servants?

This is special legislation, targeting public employees, from first responders to educators. These bills seek to stifle their freedom of speech and undermine their representation in the workplace and Frankfort.

Don't let the name fool you, what proponents have labeled "Paycheck Protection" should be named "Paycheck Deception." This attack on working families is nothing new. These measures are taken from the same deceptive playbook as the so-called "right to work" laws. This legislation has been a tactic of extremist legislators and their corporate backers for nearly 25 years*.
