From the Beshear-Coleman campaign: AP: Bevin in Colorado While Kentucky lawmakers meet in session
The Associated Press is reporting that Matt Bevin is in Colorado after calling a special session that is costing Kentucky taxpayers $66,000 a day.
Politico reported the event in Colorado is a "a two-day retreat the RGA is hosting in Aspen, Colo., which is expected to draw an array of GOP governors and donors." “Matt Bevin is costing Kentucky taxpayers $66,000 a day for a chaotic and mismanaged special session because he couldn’t even work with members of his own party—and now he isn't even in the commonwealth during the vote," said Beshear/Coleman Campaign Spokesperson Sam Newton. "While funding for rural health care clinics and rape crisis centers is in jeopardy, the governor was caught today at a private, luxury, donor retreat in Aspen, Colorado. There is a complete lack of leadership in Frankfort, and it’s clear why Matt Bevin is the most unpopular governor in the country - he can’t even be bothered to show up.”
