Ready to Lead? Take A Seat at the Table.

For too long, the decisions that shape our world have been made without the most important voice in the room: the voice of Kentucky's Working Families. It’s time to change that. A Seat At The Table is a comprehensive leadership development program from the Kentucky State AFL-CIO, designed to empower union members with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to build power for working families at every level.

Whether you're just starting your journey in the labor movement or you're ready to take your activism to the next level, we have a path for you. Our training programs are built by and for union members, providing the tools you need to make a real difference.

Explore our diverse training categories:

  • The Campaign Apprenticeship: Thinking about running for office? We'll teach you how to build a winning campaign and run for local, state, or even federal office.
  • The Labor Lobbying Institute: Learn to effectively advocate for policies that benefit working families by lobbying elected officials from your city hall to the halls of Congress.
  • Mobilization Masters: Become the vital link in our communication and action network, mobilizing your fellow members for crucial legislative and electoral campaigns; including: door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and worksite outreach to elect labor-endorsed candidates.
  • Union Strong: Young & In Power: Our annual conference for young workers and apprentices focuses on building the next generation of activists and leaders in the labor movement.
  • Common Sense Economics: Gain a deeper understanding of how the economy works and how different policies impact your family and your community.

Your experience as a union member is your strength. A Seat At The Table will help you turn that strength into action. Find your path, build your skills, and join us in the fight for a more just and equitable future. Your community needs your voice.
