From Bill Londrigan:

AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler is visiting several cities for pre-Labor Day events and will be visiting Louisville tomorrow, Thursday, August 31st through Friday, September 1st.  The first stop on President Shuler’s visit will be the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday where she will tour the bat factory and meet with members of USW Local 1693 who produce the world famous Louisville Slugger baseball bats.

Following the Slugger Museum tour President Shuler will be hosting a Young Workers Roundtable at 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at IBEW Local 369, 4315 Preston Highway, Louisville.  During the Young Workers Roundtable President Shuler will hear from local workers who have been organizing in the coffee and retail sectors.  Everyone is invited to attend!  Pizza and refreshments will be available for those attending.  With workers organizing throughout Kentucky it will be great to hear from President Shuler and workers on the frontlines of organizing their workplaces.  Of course, this is short notice as President Shuler’s schedule has been recently adjusted to make the pre-Labor Day swing through Kentucky.

On Friday, September 1st President Shuler and the State Fed will be holding a breakfast meeting for union representatives at 8:00 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2735 Crittenden Drive, Louisville.  Please RSVP via email to me if you would like to attend the breakfast meeting with President Shuler.  Space is limited so please respond as soon as possible.

Let’s have a great turnout for both the Young Workers Roundtable and Breakfast Meeting with President Shuler.

In solidarity,

Bill
