Watch Trumka on MSNBC TV: Earlier today, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka (UMWA) joined MSNBC to discuss President Biden’s first 100 days and why we need to update and increase the federal minimum wage.

In a stunning admission of failure, anti-labor Gov. Jim Justice of West Virginia explained on Tuesday that the state’s “right to work” law and repeal of prevailing wage did not deliver the jobs and the economic boom that was promised. “Well the bottom line to the whole thing is just really simple. We went out and passed a ‘right to work’ law, we got rid of prevailing wage, we built fields all over the place thinking that they will come,” Justice said. “They didn’t come, did they?” he added. The West Virginia AFL-CIO expressed surprise on Twitter over the governor’s statement acknowledging the truth about these bad policies.
