The Alliance for Retired Americans, a national organization that fights "to protect and expand retirement security for all Americans," is coming to Kentucky next month.

"Many folks have been asking about having such a chapter and we have been working with the ARA to get this going," said Bill Londrigan, Kentucky State AFL-CIO president. "So if you are interested or have a retirees club or chapter in your local or district council please share this information with them.  The founding convention is open to all union retiree organizations."

The convention is set for 9 a.m. to noon (EDT) April 16, a Tuesday, at the Embassy Suites, 1801 Newtown Pike. Registration starts at 8 a.m.

Please send RSPVs to kyalliance@retiredamericans.org. If you need overnight accommodations, please call the Embassy Suites at 859 455 5000 and book your room in the Alliance for Retired Americans block.

The Alliance for Retired Americans is comprised of 4.3 million members who "participate in advocacy, education and grassroots activities in their community."

I look forward to seeing your union retirees on April 16th," Londrigan said.
