Americans Stand with UAW Strikers

A new poll finds that nearly four of five Americans back UAW members in our strike against the Big Three.

The support for our strike is overwhelming – and it’s growing:

• A Gallup poll conducted in August showed that 75 percent of the public sided with union members against the companies.
• The new poll by Navigator Research finds that 78 percent of Americans support the UAW. That includes Republicans who back us 69 percent to 31 percent over the Big Three.

Turn on any TV channel, open any newspaper, and you’ll see that our voices are being heard. America is hearing about the:

• Sacrifices we made to save the auto industry but were never rewarded for.
• Pay raises we’re demanding so we can buy the cars we build.
• Unity we’re building for our cause all across America.

Our members are winning this strike in the press. And we’ll win a strong contract on the picket line.
