Arrangements and Obituary for Brother Charlie Clephas

Charles “Charlie” Clephas, 75 of Louisville, passed away on Saturday, April 17th, 2021.

Charlie was a retired 55-year member of United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 502, Louisville, KY.  Charlie was Chairman of the board of trustees of the Buechel Fire Department, past President of Greater Louisville Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, past President, Secretary-Treasurer of UA Local 502 and a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church.  Charlie was a 1965 graduate of Trinity High School.  Charlie was active in civic and community organizations and a lifelong advocate of Union Labor rights. He was a member of South Park Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Julia Clephas and two brothers, Tom and Jerry Clephas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Kelley Clephas, his daughters, Cheryl Distler (George), Michelle Arnold (Andy), Christy Rhodes (Jamie) and Amanda Lambert (Joe), his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Julianna, Madison, Allie, Brennen, Jack, Jordan, Blake, Ryan, Nicholas, Emma and Noah, one great grandson, Atticus, two sisters, Ann Keene and Mary Clephas-Mannix and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 22nd from 1-8pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 11am at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 3521 Goldsmith Ln, Louisville, KY 40220. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
