Andy Beshear is taking to social media today to criticize Matt Bevin for trying to rip health care away from working families, following an announcement that his office once again filed a legal brief to protect coverage for Kentuckians with pre-existing health conditions.

Andy Beshear shared on social media today: "Matt Bevin is trying to help insurance companies go back to denying essential coverage for people with pre-existing conditions. I'm fighting back because all of our families should be able to afford coverage for their prescription drugs, maternity care & mental health services." In June, Bevin joined a lawsuit that would allow insurance companies to offer plans that do not cover essential health benefits, which threatens care for people with pre-existing conditions. Bevin is pitted against the AmericanMedicalAssociation, which said his insurance plans would “revive pre-existing condition discrimination."

The disagreement between Beshear and Bevin over health care led to what Roll Call called their "first Twitter fight of the 2019 general election, arguing over preexisting conditions."
