Carla Dearing Will Not Seek Democratic Nomination for Mayor of Louisville

Louisville, KY --  Today, Democrat Carla Dearing released the following statement announcing that she will not be filing to run for mayor in 2022.

After careful consideration, I have decided not to seek the office of mayor next year. This is simply not the right time for me and my family to undertake this effort. I appreciate everyone who was a part of this and who offered their time, effort and financial support.

I continue to believe in the incredible potential of Louisville. I love this city and am proud to have made it my home. Louisville needs leadership that brings everyone to the table and includes those who have historically lacked access to power and community investment. I truly believe that who we are in the next five years will shape our future for the next 50. 

I’ve been working on these issues for the past several years, supporting projects, both nonprofit and for profit, bringing people together around bold initiatives, and getting things done, and I will be continuing that work in the coming months and years.
