Frankfort, Ky. - Today, Daniel Cameron’s campaign is once again misleading voters with a new ad that fails to mention how Cameron’s education “plan” would gut Kentucky’s public schools:

  • Cameron and Mills support a plan that would pour millions of taxpayer dollars meant for public schools into unaccountable private schools, and could exacerbate the teacher shortage.

  • Cameron also backed Matt Bevin’s unconstitutional “sewer bill,” picking Robby Mills as his running mate who not only voted for but helped lead the way on Bevin’s plan to strip pensions from teachers.

  • Cameron’s hand-picked running mate Mills even voted to give himself and his fellow legislators a raise, but not teachers, and sponsored a bill this year that makes it harder for teachers to negotiate for better working conditions.

“Kentuckians deserve to know the truth about Daniel Cameron’s plan to defund Kentucky’s public school system,” said Kentucky Democratic Party spokesperson Anna Breedlove. “No empty apology tour can hide the truth that the Cameron-Mills ticket treats our public schools like a political football. Between picking a running mate who led the charge on Matt Bevin’s unconstitutional ‘sewer bill’ to strip pensions from teachers and his support for a scheme to funnel taxpayer dollars into unaccountable private schools, Cameron would be a disaster for our schools and Kentucky’s kids."
