From Forward Kentucky: HB3 – Another mean, hateful, wasteful bill out of Frankfort

At some point, you have to ask yourself: Do these legislators, mostly Republicans, just sit around and say to each other “What else can we do to hurt the poor and powerless of Kentucky?”
Because now the Republican leadership in the House has unveiled a bill that is being called the worst attack on the poor in any state this year. In fact, one advocacy group said they had NEVER seen a bill this bad, in any state, ever.
I’m talking about House Bill 3, with the innocuous title of “An Act relating to public assistance recipients.” Under that simple title is a hydra-headed bill that both attacks the poor and powerless AND wastes government money at alarming rates for programs that have been proven in other states to Not Work.
