Leah Hughes often says her father has a "magical" quality about him.
Growing up as the daughter of a beer man was no different than growing up with a local celebrity. He has this incredible memory for names and faces, she says. Beer runs through the lifeblood of this city and whether it's at a high-end bistro or a small discount retail store, it hits every corner of Louisville. Throughout his 40-plus-year career in beer distribution, her father, Jim Hughes, has been the man trucking it along, shaking hands and making connections in a way that still baffles his now-grown daughter.
