KDP: Cameron Economic Plan Lacks Specifics, But His Record Speaks For Itself
KENTUCKY DEMOCRATIC PARTY
Frankfort, Ky. - Yesterday, Daniel Cameron held a press conference to announce his economic plan, which consisted of slogans and platitudes but no policy specifics. When pressed for details on any of his plans, Cameron refused to provide any. Since Cameron and his running mate won’t provide any specifics about their plans, here’s a reminder of their real record:
- Not only is Daniel Cameron a supporter of Matt Bevin’s unpopular and unconstitutional plan to strip pensions through his “Sewer Bill” which would have hurt our public school teachers, police, and firefighters–but Robby Mills led the way on a special session to repass the bill after it was found unconstitutional by the Kentucky Supreme Court.
- Mills not only voted to give himself and his fellow legislators a raise instead of teachers–but he also carried the bill that makes it harder for educators to negotiate for better working conditions.
- Cameron and Mills support diverting taxpayer dollars to unaccountable private schools and his campaign is being propped up by pro-voucher special interests.
- Cameron would follow Matt Bevin’s plan to roll back healthcare access for almost 100,000 Kentuckians.
- Mills voted to cut access to dental and healthcare for thousands of hardworking Kentuckians.
- In 2018, Mills supported Matt Bevin’s proposal to raise the qualifications and limit the benefits for black lung for ailing coal miners, turning his back on the miners who have powered communities in Kentucky and across our country for decades.
“Our Commonwealth deserves better than Daniel Cameron and Robby Mills, both of whom supported stripping pensions from our teachers and first responders and cutting healthcare to hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians,” said Kentucky Democratic Party spokesperson Anna Breedlove.
