KDP: Daniel Cameron Doubles Down on Dismissing Teacher Raises

Does he not think teachers and support staff should get the pay they deserve?
KENTUCKY DEMOCRATIC PARTY
Frankfort, Ky. - Today, Daniel Cameron’s campaign once againdismissed the idea of an 11% raise for teachers and support staff, claiming his allies in the Republican dominated Kentucky legislature wouldn’t pass it. Kentucky currently ranks 44th nationally in average teacher starting pay and 40th in average teacher pay.
“Daniel Cameron is once again confirming that he and his allies are standing in the way of Kentucky’s teachers and support staff getting the raises they so desperately need,” said Kentucky Democratic Party spokesperson Anna Breedlove. “Paying our educators and support staff fairly is essential for Kentucky’s public education system and our children’s future. If we’re going to recruit and retain the best teachers, they need to be fairly compensated. Mocking teacher raises sounds like yet another page out of the Matt Bevin playbook.”
