KDP: Daniel Cameron's Real Education Agenda
KENTUCKY DEMOCRATIC PARTY
Frankfort, Ky. - Despite his campaign’s desperate attempts to rebrand Daniel Cameron’s previous attacks on public education, he can’t hide his real education plan from Kentuckians. Daniel Cameron has:
Supported efforts to funnel millions of taxpayer dollars meant for public schools into unaccountable private schools.
Defended Matt Bevin’s plan to gut hard-earned pensions for Kentucky teachers.
Picked a running mate who raised salaries for politicians like himself but blocked the raises for teachers and support staff that Gov. Andy Beshear has proposed.
- Preventing educators from negotiating for better working conditions–exacerbating Kentucky’s teacher shortage.
“No matter how much Daniel Cameron and his campaign try to rebrand his education plan, you can't put lipstick on a pig,” said Kentucky Democratic Party spokesperson Anna Breedlove. “Cameron already had a terrible record on public education before he selected a running mate that helped lead the charge on Matt Bevin’s unconstitutional plan to strip teacher pensions. Now, he’s running a campaign propped up by money from pro-voucher special interests. A Cameron-Mills ticket would decimate Kentucky’s public education system, and our kids and families deserve better.”
