From the KDP: ICYMI: McConnell Consultant Exposed for Racist, Bigoted Social Media Posts

Frankfort, KY — A consultant with ties to Mitch McConnell’s re-election campaign is under fire after dozens of past social media posts using racial and anti-LGBTQ slurs were revealed. Caleb Hull was employed by the firm Targeted Victory until very recently. His past social media posts were revealed late Wednesday.According to reports: “[Hull] reportedly made racist comments and repeatedly used the n-word on a now-deleted Twitter account ...The strategist, Caleb Hull, also made homophobic and Islamophobic statements using the account, according to Right Wing Watch. More recently, Hull mocked reports of a noose being found in NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace’s garage...in a now-deleted tweet.”
Team Mitch has paid Targeted Victory nearly $2 million in 2020 so far, including during the time that Hull was employed with the firm. The most recent payment to Targeted Victory was for more than $1 Million on June 3rd. Hull’s extensive promotion of Mitch McConnell and Team Mitch on his social media suggests he may have been working directly with McConnell’s campaign on behalf of Targeted Victory as recently as April of 2020.
It’s not the first time that McConnell has hired someone with obvious racist beliefs and public social media posts. In 2018, a former field staffer for his U.S. Senate office was revealed to have anti-Hispanic and racist posts.
And it’s hardly the first time McConnell has been on the wrong side of these issues. In June, a past video of McConnell voting to trademark protect the Confederate flag in honor of his slave-owning ancestors arose. He’s accepted awards from Confederate-supporting organizations. And he’s actively defending statues of Confederate heroes like Jefferson Davis in the U.S. Capitol.
“Kentuckians deserve an explanation about why Mitch continues to hire and support racists in both his U.S. Senate office and in his campaign. As leader of the U.S. Senate, he must set an example in his hiring practices and so far, Mitch is failing badly,” Kentucky Democratic Party spokesperson Marisa McNee said. “Kentucky deserves a leader like Amy McGrath who is willing to stand up for them, and in November they will make their voices heard.”
