KENTUCKY DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Voter Protection Hotline: 1-833-GoVoteKY (1-833-468-6835)

Frankfort, KY — The Kentucky Democratic Party is supporting a variety of voter protection measures to ensure that all eligible voters in Kentucky are afforded a lawful opportunity to cast a ballot.

The program is designed to help voters overcome systemic obstacles that make it difficult for voters to exercise their right to vote. The KDP will have a Voter Protection Hotline (1-833-GoVoteKY / 1-833-468-6835) that is open to all voters who have questions about voting. Additionally, the KDP is organizing a statewide network of attorneys and trained volunteers to assist voters with questions or concerns leading up to and on Election Day, November 5, 2019.

The KDP is seeking volunteers across Kentucky who are interested in supporting the voter protection efforts. The roles include:

  • Assist voters who have questions via the Voter Hotline. No experience is needed for this role, but the volunteer must attend training.

  • Work at a polling location in your county on Election Day to assist voters. No experience is needed for this role, but the volunteer must attend training.

  • Provide legal assistance to voters on Election Day. The volunteer must be a practicing attorney for this role.

Volunteers can sign up here: https://action.kydems.org/page/s/voter-protection

The KDP encourages all voters to check and update their voter registration by the deadline, October 7 at 4 p.m. local time. This can be done online at GoVoteKY.com, or with the county clerk (contact information here: https://elect.ky.gov/About-Us/Pages/County-Clerks.aspx). Absentee ballots can be requested from the county clerk. Check where to vote at GoVoteKY.com. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Election Day, November 5, 2019.
