From the KDP: Richard White’s First Act as New State Rep: Failing to Vote on Day One
EDITOR'S NOTE: The Kentucky State AFL-CIO endorsed Richard Redwine over White. Voters will chose between Redwine and White or Dennis J. Stafford on Nov. 3. Richard White decided to waste the time and money of the taxpayers of his district by showing up on his first day and doing absolutely nothing.
White - who won a recent special election thanks to a homophobic whisper campaign - decided to skip key votes on a voter suppression bill (Senate Bill 2) and a concurrence vote on House Bill 214.
In contrast, State Rep. Rachel Roberts, who also had her first day on Tuesday, registered a vote on both bills.
“To miss key votes on your first day is embarrassing and a clear sign to the voters of House District 99 that Richard White does not deserve to be representing them in Frankfort. Voters should make sure his time in the Capitol is very short lived and vote him out in November,” Marisa McNee, spokesperson for the Kentucky Democratic Party, said.
