Though the 30-day short legislative session is winding down, a one-year budget must still be passed. We anticipate the budget conference committee discussions to continue with a possible budget being introduced and passed at the end of next week.
The State House and Senate must move quickly to complete the budget process and pass any other legislation, so it's essential to remain vigilant during the last few days of the legislative session. The budget proposal from Governor Beshear fully funded all pension plans, and we need to make sure that part of the budget remains intact.
