Congratulations to Brother Larry Roberts who, was appointed secretary of the Labor Cabinet by Governor-Elect Andy Beshear yesterday.
Governor Andy Beshear officially was sworn in at 12:01 today. Organized labor was instrumental in Andy’s election on November 5. After 4 years of attacks on Kentucky’s Building Trades, our members rallied to defeat the worst governor in the country.
A promise throughout the campaign was the appointment of a labor secretary from within our ranks who understood our issues and those of all Kentucky‘s workers. The Building Trades couldn’t be more proud of Larry's appointment.
Larry Roberts had previously served as secretary of labor for over 2 years under Governor Steve Beshear. Larry has spent the last 4 years as a consultant to the Kentucky Pipe Trades and previously served the Kentucky Building Trades as state director for 11 years. We couldn’t ask for a better advocate for Kentucky’s workforce. Congratulations, Secretary Roberts.
