Lexington Herald-Leader: Union employees planning strike reach tentative agreement with Kentucky American Water

The workers alleged unfair labor practices by the water company.

Kentucky American Water employees who had planned to go on strike Friday night said they have reached a tentative agreement with the company.

The employees planned to vote on the agreement Friday evening, the union representing them said in a news release Friday afternoon.

The 68 workers are members of the National Conference of Firemen & Oilers, or NCFO, and have filed four complaints of unfair labor practices with the National Labor Relations Board since last week. They had planned to strike on Friday just before midnight.
