Louisville Courier-Journal op-ed: Kentucky teacher to legislators: It's your job, not ours, to fight for education

Thanks to Liles Taylor for sending us this.
Dear legislators,
I am a public school teacher and this special session may not directly impact me, but I am invested in fighting for all public employee’s rights, pensions, health care, revenue, and funding of state programs, including public education.
Friday, many of us could not be in attendance and we would like you and the citizens of this great state to understand why.
A huge percentage of educators all across Kentucky were sitting in professional development sessions. School starts back in less than three weeks for several school districts and we must get prepared.
