From The Louisville Courier-Journal: TARC drivers who feel like 'casualties of war' say transit agency isn't keeping them safe

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville bus drivers responsible for transporting essential workers during the pandemic sweeping the region say they're fearful of reporting to work in an unsafe environment with inadequate protections from COVID-19. 

Transit Authority of River City employees have to interact with bus passengers who pay fares within two feet of the driver's seat, on buses that at times are overcrowded or unclean, sometimes without the masks, gloves or sanitizer that they need, drivers told The Courier Journal. 

And despite concerns from drivers and their union, ATU Local 1447, TARC hasn't made changes drivers say they desperately need for their health and safety.
