This Thanksgiving, Thank a Public Employee

This Thanksgiving, we hope you are able to gather with the people you love to break bread and express gratitude for the blessings in your life.

Here at NPPC, we talk about public employees and their contributions every day. It’s only natural that when we think about giving thanks, we think of them. Even before the pandemic, public employees dedicated their lives to bettering their communities. Once the pandemic hit, we started writing about the ways they were going above and beyond. We thought maybe the stories would die down after a while, but public employees have continued to put their communities first, often spending their own money or risking their health to do so.

Just about every other week, we round up these stories on our blog, Defined Benefit. Reading these stories of selflessness and goodwill is the highlight of our week, and we hope it is for you, too. In a time where everyone could use a bit of good news, public employees are there to provide, and we are so thankful for them.

On behalf of all of us here at NPPC, I would like to thank all of the workers who dedicate their careers to the noble pursuit of public service. You deserve to retire with dignity, and we are proud to fight to protect that.

In Solidarity and Thanksgiving,

Maggie Rogers
