Statement from the Greater Louisville Central Labor Council

Tonight's victory by the Heine Bros. Workers Union, is a resounding win for the Baristas at Heine Brothers but also a message to those seeking a better life. These workers took courageous action to go out and get what they deserve by unionizing with NCFO/SEIU 32BJ.

The labor union movement is seeing a resurgence nationally, and here locally. With union organizing efforts happening in Louisville coffee shops, book stores, public defenders offices, even in newsrooms it is clear that working people are fed up. They know they deserve better and they're ready to go out and get what they deserve through a union contract.

To any workers seeking a better life through a union, know that you are not alone. Talk to your coworkers and organize your workplace!
