Donate to help families of ATU shooting victims
Thanks to Liles Taylor for sending us this.As most of you know by now, there was a tragic mass shooting at an VTA rail facility in San Jose, California. The victims were members of ATU Local 265. Some were attending a union meeting when this shooting happened, and this loss is a tragedy for our movement. If anyone is interested in sharing the fundraiser to assist the families of the victims, Working Partnerships USA has a link here.I'd like to use the email copy Alyssa Hansen from the TN AFL-CIO sent yesterday as a great example if anyone would like to do the same:

Yesterday’s mass shooting during an ATU union meeting in San Jose, California is devastating for our labor family. We’ve all been to meetings just like this and think of them as an opportunity for solidarity and discussion, not violence. To assist the victims and their families during this unimaginably difficult and tragic time, a link has been set up that allows folks to support their needs. We know that everyone’s finances have been impacted by the pandemic, but If you able and willing to do so, please click here to make a donation. You are welcome to share this information with others as well.
Please feel free to reach out if anyone has any questions. Thank you all so much. Best,Kalina Newman --Kalina NewmanEastern Regional Field Communications Coordinator AFL-CIO Communications pronouns: she/her
