EDITOR'S NOTE: Bill Londrigan has announced that he will not seek another term as president of the Kentucky State AFL-CIO. We are receiving notes from well-wishers including Gov. Andy Beshear.  The Kentucky State AFL-CIO made history in January by endorsing the Democratic incumbent for a second term. Never before had the state’s largest labor organization backed a candidate so soon in an election cycle.

“The Kentucky State AFL-CIO is making this historic early endorsement of Gov. Andy Beshear to signify our commitment to re-elect Andy Beshear and demonstrate our resolve to keep Kentuckians safe from the false and harmful policies of our opponents,” said a statement from President Londrigan.

From Gov. Beshear:Labor unions are the backbone of the American economy, and for more than two decades, Bill Londrigan has been the face of Kentucky’s labor movement. Bill was always there, leading the way,” Gov. Beshear said. “He has laid the groundwork for continued success at the Kentucky AFL-CIO, and I wish Bill all the best.
