36th Biennial Convention Award Nominations
Nominations shall be made on this webform and only local unions affiliated with the Kentucky State AFL-CIO shall make nominations.

The 2025 Kentucky State AFL-CIO Awards will be presented during the 36th Biennial Convention of the Kentucky State AFL-CIO, on Monday evening, November 3rd.
The Awards include:
Youth Labor Award- honor a youth who has demonstrated their knowledge of and commitment to the goals and principles of the American labor movement. The award recognizes a youth that has promoted the benefits of organized labor through their efforts at the workplace, through educational, journalistic and other leadership roles for the promotion of understanding of the labor movement by other youth and the general public. Nominations are limited to individuals twenty-five years or younger, and they should be residents of Kentucky.
Lewis Hicks Lifetime Achievement Award- honor a trade unionist who has dedicated their lives to the betterment of their fellow workers and citizens through continuous and tireless dedication to their local union and community. The award recognizes individuals that are active in their unions and communities through volunteerism and elected office and demonstrate their ability to achieve positive results for those they represent.
Charles T. Clark Community Service Award- presented to a person who has demonstrated outstanding volunteer spirit on behalf of organized labor. The award recognizes the many contributions made by community service volunteers to benefit the labor movement and assist working families throughout Kentucky.
Rosie The Riveter Award- honors a women trade unionist who has made significant contributions to working men and women, their union and the labor movement. The award recognizes the many contributions made by women trade unionists to benefit the labor movement and assist working families throughout Kentucky. Nominations are limited to active and retired female union members.
Leonard “Scotty” Smith Award- honors a trade unionist that has made significant contributions to the union movement and has demonstrated tireless dedication to improving the lives of working men and women through the promotion of trade unionism. The award recognizes an individual who has gone above the call of duty in their efforts to promote the interests of organized labor both within their union and their community. Nominations are limited to active and retired union members and representatives.
Bill Londrigan Leadership Award- honors a trade unionist leader who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and effectiveness in advancing the rights, well-being, and solidarity of union members. The recipient will have a proven record of: advocacy, membership mobilization, strategic vision, and unwavering integrity.
