Dustin Reinstedler

Dustin Reinstedler began his union career in 2005 as an apprentice with Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 4 IN/KY. By his second year, he was already demonstrating strong leadership and was named Recording Secretary for the Louisville Chapter of Local 4. After completing his apprenticeship in 2009, Dustin quickly rose through the ranks, supervising large-scale industrial projects—some involving up to 80 workers—and collaborating across trades to deliver high-quality, on-time, and under-budget work. Throughout, he remained committed to mentoring new apprentices and fostering strong union relationships on every job.
In 2014, Dustin was hired by Local 4 IN/KY to succeed retiring Union Representative Bill Clark. In this role, he took on additional leadership responsibilities, serving as Secretary-Treasurer for both the pension and the Drug, Safety, and Training Fund. He was appointed by Governor Andy Beshear to serve on the Kentucky Housing, Building, and Construction Board, and played a key role in opening new training facilities to prepare the next generation of bricklayers.
Dustin has been instrumental in strengthening union infrastructure—signing several new employers to certified bargaining agreements and recruiting hundreds of new members. He was elected Vice Chairman of Local 4 IN/KY and served on numerous boards dedicated to advancing the interests of working people.
In 2020, Dustin was elected President of the Kentucky State Building and Construction Trades Council, representing tens of thousands of tradespeople across the Commonwealth. In 2023, he earned his greatest honor yet: being elected President of the Kentucky State AFL-CIO by more than 100,000 union members statewide.
As President of the Kentucky State AFL-CIO, Dustin works alongside labor leaders across industries to ensure working Kentuckians have a powerful voice in Frankfort and beyond, and to champion the transformative impact of a union career.
