FRANKFORT, Ky. – Senate President Robert Stivers acknowledged Wednesday that there’s little hope that the 2018 General Assembly will pass the pension reform bill.

“I don’t see a lot of hope for it. That’s just the reality,” Stivers said in a brief interview before a meeting of the Senate State and Local Government Committee.

On Friday the prospects for passage of the pension bill — Senate Bill 1 — suddenly became doubtful after Stivers and other Senate majority leaders postponed a scheduled vote on the bill.
