Kentucky State AFL-CIO President Bill Londrigan will emcee a "Kentucky Moving Party" Saturday in Frankfort.
The get-out-the-vote program will start with a parade of vehicles symbolically towing cargo trailers through town to the Capitol. Speaking will follow at 10 a.m. on the Capitol steps.
“This event will provide not only our state, but also our nation with a great visual of Kentucky’s plans to clean out our state offices and move in those that truly do care about Kentucky’s hard working citizens," says the Kentucky Public Pension Coalition website.
A KPPC statement explains that the rally was organized "to show legislators that we haven’t forgotten about their votes against public pensions. This rally is a non-partisan event and will include multiple speakers from KPPC as well as fellow hosts United We Stand: Kentucky Government Employees and KY 120 United."
The speaker's lineup includes:
Brian O’Neil, Kentucky Professional Fire Fighters
Brent McKim, Jefferson County Teachers Association
Sue Ellen Caldwell, Kentucky Retired Teachers Association
Lea Collins, Kentucky Education Association
Christina Trosper, KY 120 United
Skylar Graudick, Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police
Bobby Brown, AFSCME
Katie Hancock, United We Stand: Kentucky Government Employees
