Don Thrasher, chairman of the Republican Party of Nelson County, confirmed he and others are working to depose state Rep. Chad McCoy, R-Bardstown.

House Majority Whip Chad McCoy, R-Bardstown, has come under fire from a group of local Republicans for his support for changes to the fuel tax and bank franchise tax.

Thrasher said Tuesday he and the party’s county committee are trying to recruit an opponent to run against McCoy, the House majority whip.
