The Louisville Zoo turns 50 this year and 2019 is also the 20th anniversary of the Falls City's Labor Day at the Zoo Picnic and Car Show.

Sponsored by the Greater Louisville United Labor Picnic Inc. for union members and their families, the festivities start at 10 a.m., rain or shine, and go to 3 p.m. on Sept. 2.  Exhibits will stay open until 6.

Food and drinks will be served from 11 to 3. (Zoo hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

The schedule includes cash giveaways to ticket holders. Drawings are to be held at approximately 2:30 p.m., but you must be present to win.

Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the gate. Children 2 or under get in free. Prices cover all-day admission to the zoo, picnic food and drinks, car show, plus Inflatables for kids and music in the picnic area.

The program includes union and vendor booths. Off-site parking and shuttles will be available.

Tickets may be purchased at UAW 862, Teamsters 89, IBEW 369 or through other union locals.

Money raised from ticket sales help support organizations including Kling Senior Center, Zoo Kids Inc. at Louisville Zoo, Shop With a Deputy, Visually Impaired Preschool Services and the Louisville Zoo.
