From the KDP: Hypocrite Mitch to Headline California Event For a Weekend of “Barefoot Luxury” at Exclusive Beach Club

Frankfort, KY -- On Saturday, Politico reported Mitch is jetting off to an exclusive beach club to rub elbows with big donors in California less than a month after criticizing one of his potential opponents for raising money in California.

The August 12th fundraiser is hosted by former Congressman Darrell Issa on behalf of the McConnell for Majority Leader Committee.

The Committee has already transferred almost half a million dollars to McConnell’s campaign account in 2019 with the most recent transfer of $158,273.18 coming after news reports he was outraised by a challenger in  just a single day.        

The event will take place at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club -- home to one of California’s only private beaches -- in the Walnut Lounge which provides a “warm and welcoming ambience”  with a “stately fireplace and breathtaking views of the Pacific.” For the cost of an $80,000 initiation fee and an annual fee of just over $9,000 the beach club promises “barefoot luxury awaits!”

“Just two weeks ago Team Mitch was happy to vilify anyone with connections to California, now he’s running off to private beach resorts with his hand out,” said Marisa McNee, spokesperson for the Kentucky Democratic Party.  “This would all be comical if it weren’t so hypocritical and sad. Kentuckians deserve better.”
