Frankfort, KY—Matt Bevin has attacked teachers, social workers and even Kentucky school kids. Now, Bevin's bullying of his own lieutenant governor is back in the news with Jenean Hampton filing a lawsuit against him, asking for court orders that would restore the two staff members his administration fired from their jobs.

It’s an escalation of the nasty “GOP civil war” going on with his own hand-picked running mate.

The Louisville Courier Journal reported: “The lawsuit, filed in Franklin Circuit Court, argues the Bevin administration illegally dismissed Hampton's chief of staff Steve Knipper in late January and deputy chief of staff Adrienne Southworth in late May.”

Last week, Hampton exposed Matt Bevin for lying when he claimed they have a “great relationship,” with the Lt. Governor telling the Lexington Herald-Leader, “Look, I did not talk to him. I’ve never talked with him about the dismissals. My staff has not been treated right and I stand by my staff.”

“Matt Bevin is already the most unpopular governor in the entire country. But instead of campaigning together, his own lieutenant governor wants to see him in court,” said Marisa McNee, spokesperson for the Kentucky Democratic Party. “Rather than use his office to help working families, this governor spends his time bullying people and turning Frankfort into a dysfunctional mess—and Kentucky taxpayers are stuck footing the bill. Kentuckians can do so much better with a new governor who actually focuses on decency and brings people together to get results.”
