Beshear will invest in public education

For the past four years, public education in Kentucky has been under attack. Decisions by our current elected officials to defund our schools led to historically deep funding cuts — jeopardizing our students’ futures and putting even more strain on our under-resourced teachers.
Kentucky’s governor holds a lot of power when it comes to public education. They set the education agenda. No one individual has more power to influence students, educators and retired educators than the governor. That's why we’re supporting Andy Beshear for governor this November.
The governor sets the tone for whether we, as a state, prioritize the needs of children and our schools. Kentucky’s budget is proposed by the governor and adopted by the General Assembly. That budget determines the investment the commonwealth makes in providing a quality public education for every one of our students.
We need a governor who understands how crucial Kentucky’s public education system is. We need Andy Beshear.
Andy Beshear has a plan to ensure well-funded public schools for all Kentuckians. He and his running mate, educator Jacqueline Coleman, know that strong schools mean strong communities. They’re committed to ensuring every child in Kentucky has access to a high-quality public education, regardless of ZIP code.
Our teachers are crucial public servants who deserve respect and fair compensation for their work. Because of his strong commitment to public education, Andy Beshear has earned the support of more than 40,000 Kentucky educators.
Andy Beshear is the candidate who will best represent working families, teachers and students. Join us in supporting him on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
