WORKING FAMILIES PARTY

Companies like Amazon, Instacart, Family Dollar, Food Lion, McDonald's, Walmart, and Whole Foods are thriving amidst the COVID-19 pandemic as more Americans cook at home, limit in-person trips to grocery stores, or seek easy drive-thru dinner options.

Unfortunately, their workers have been paying the price — putting themselves in harm's way to cook, package up, and deliver food and other household essentials without paid sick leave policies, proper health protocols, or "hazard pay" increases in wages.

So this week, workers at all seven companies went on strike. And with your help, we can make it clear that the public supports these essential workers in their fight.

Will you sign our petition in solidarity with striking workers across the country who are taking action to demand the benefits and protections they deserve?

Whole Foods wants to hire 5,000 new employees.

Amazon wants to hire 100,000 new warehouse and delivery workers.

Instacart wants to hire a staggering 300,000 new shoppers.

These companies depend on workers who are putting everything on the line every day to make sure all of us can get through this pandemic. And yet, if they get sick, they can't count on paid sick days — while their corporate employees are allowed to work from home. Many more continue to work even without proper access to hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes.

The Working Families Party is proud to stand in solidarity with these workers and all the others — from health care workers to maintenance workers, delivery drivers to warehouse stockers — who take are proving how essential they are every day. Your support is critical in this fight.

Add your name in solidarity with essential workers on strike across this country who are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Together, we can help ensure that these workers get the protections they deserve — and hopefully pressure other companies to follow suit.

With love and solidarity,

All of us at the Working Families Party
