Think your vote doesn't matter?
Ask state House hopeful Al Cunningham and state Rep. Travis Brenda, both Kentucky State AFL-CIO endorsed primary candidates.
Cunningham won the 6th District Democratic primary by 31 votes. Brenda lost the 71st District GOP primary by 30 votes.
Cunningham, a retired IUPAT District Council 91business representative who lives in Palma, edged Linda Story Edwards of Benton, 2,931 to 2,900. He'll face Republican State Rep. Chris Freeland, R-Benton, on Nov. 3.
The deep western Kentucky district includes Marshall County and parts of McCracken and Lyon counties.
Josh Bray of Mount Vernon, trimmed Brenda, who lives in Crab Orchard, 4,107 to 4,077. The central Kentucky district encompasses parts of Garrard, Rockcastle and Madison counties.
Brenda has asked for a recanvass. Because no Democrat filed, the Republican primary winner will advance to Frankfort.
