Louisville Courier-Journal: Here's what Fancy Farm organizers must do to save the beloved political picnic
By JOSEPH GERTH
With last year’s Fancy Farm picnic canceled and this year’s a shadow of its former self with no Democrats speaking and picnic organizers making little effort to find any to attend, it’s time to ask an existential question.
“Is the Fancy Farm picnic’s time running out?”
I know. I know. “That’s heresy,” you say. “It’s a beloved institution here in Kentucky, an event that political junkies wait all year for. Like Christmas. Or Derby. Or a colonoscopy.”
